基因组编辑(Genomeediting)和合成生物学(SyntheticBIOLOGy)是近年来快速发展起来的生命科学的新兴学科。全面合理地解决所涉及的理论，技术和具体操作层面的挑战，以及伦理问题是实现人们改造自身和生存环境愿望的必要前提。国内和国外的华人科学家在这两个学科做出了令人瞩目的突破性工作，并在临床尝试走在全球的前沿，这为我们筹办这样一次高水平的学术会议奠定了扎实的基础。

为了确保本次会议的学术质量，我们邀请到了活跃在基因组编辑（30分钟报告13位，其中植物学方向2位，10分钟报告一位）和合成生物学研究（30分钟报告7位，10分钟报告一位）第一线且已做出国际水平工作22位华人科学家，为了与与会者更好的交流探讨，22位科学家将全程与会。同时，为了大幅提高青年学者展示工作和才华的机会，我们安排了为时1小时10分钟的墙报（6月9日15:30-16:40）展示环节和8个10分钟短talk的机会，此8位与会者将受邀与8日和9日晚与演讲嘉宾共进晚宴，同时获得2018年第二季度出版的朱景德等著的“表观遗传学和精准医学”一书，会议纪念的紫砂杯，优秀墙报证书和500元的奖励。

最后，我们还设置了为时1小时5分钟的专题讨论（6月9日下午16:40-17:45），就：1、基因组编辑和合成生物学的理论和技术挑战；2，伦理I，生殖细胞的遗传改造；3、伦理II；和4、Alternative技术进行深入的讨论。
