2.5S Nerve Growth Factor (NGF)
CEDARLANE’s ultrapure NGF isprepared from male mouse submandibular gland and is useful for the study ofneuronal growth and differentiation in culture and in vivo. In the peripheralnervous system, Nerve Growth Factor (NGF) promotes the survival and growth ofsympathetic and spinal sensory neurons. In the central nervous system, NGFenhances survival and differentiation of cholinergic neurons, particularly inthe basal forebrain. NGF also appears to be a mitotic agent for mast cells andfor basophilic leukocytes. These preparations of NGF have been used to studythe development of sympathetic neurons, the differentiation of PC12 cells, toexamine proliferation of mastcellsand leukocytes, and to study processing of proNGF.
