Description
Emtricitabine is a cytidine nucleoside analog reverse transcriptase inhibitor (NRTI) that is clinically used to treat HIV infection. This antiviral also displays some efficacy in the treatment of hepatitis B infection. Emtricitabine is typically co-administered with other antiretrovirals; it also inhibits telomerase activity in vitro.
