GAP27, a peptide derived from the selective gap junction blocker connexin 43, inhibits gap junction signaling in endothelial cells. GAP27 also attenuates ACh-induced arterial relaxation and reduces K⁺-mediated smooth muscle repolarization in endothelium-intact vessels in vitro.
