The Titanium DNA Amplification Kit features Titanium Taq DNA Polymerase, a 5'-exonuclease deficient Taq polymerase blended with TaqStart Antibody for automatic hot-start PCR. The kits also contain an optimized buffer mix (containing MgCl2), purified dNTP mix, and our proprietary RNase-free GC-Melt Reagent, which improves PCR amplification and yield when using templates with high GC-content or complex secondary structure.
The Titanium DNA Amplification Kit was designed in collaboration with Affymetrix scientists and comes in two sizes. Cat. # 639240 contains enough reagents for 300 reactions. Cat. # 639243, recommended for use with CytoScan HD, contains sufficient reagent for 400 reactions. The 300-reaction kit can be used by itself to support the original two-chip format, and screen 96 genomic DNA samples with the Mapping 500K Array Set. The 400-reaction kit can support the single-chip format, and screen 48 genomic DNA samples with the SNP Array 6.0.
The Titanium DNA Amplification Kit has been functionally validated by Affymetrix scientists for use with their CytoScan HD, CytoScan 750K, SNP Array 6.0, the original Mapping 250K, and 500K Arrays. This extra validation step ensures that the Titanium amplification step will never be a roadblock to your genotyping and cytogenetics success.
