TheJ11dmonoclonalantibodyreactswithmouseCD24alsoknownasheatstableantigen(HSA),a35-50kDaglycosylatedmembraneprotein.CD24isexpressedbyerythrocytes,granulocytes,monocytes,andlymphocytes.ImmatureBcellsinbonemarrowandspleenofadultmiceexpresshighlevelsofCD24,whilematureperipheralBcellsexpressintermediatelevelsofCD24.TheexpressionofCD24hasbeenusedtoresolvestagesofBcelllymphopoiesisinmousebonemarrow.IthasbeenreportedthatP-selectin(CD62P)bindstoCD24.TheJ11dantibodyhasbeenshowntodepleteCD24+cellswhenadministeredinvivo.
