Abstract
Humanmesenchymalstemcell(MSC)-conditionedmedium(CM)waspreviouslyreportedtoaffectthebiologyoftumorcells;however,theprecisemechanismsremainunclear.Here,weshowthatMSCssecreted40–100 nmparticles,whichhavethetypicalcharacteristicsofexosomes,andtheseMSC-derivedexosomespromotedmigrationofthebreastcancercelllineMCF7.Globalgeneexpressionprofilingrevealedthatseveralcancer-relatedsignalingpathwayswereupregulatedafterexosometreatmentinMCF7,andtheWntsignalingpathwaywasfurtherconfirmedtobeactivated.OurfindingsdemonstratedanewmechanismthroughwhichMSC-CMmaycontributetotumorcellmigration.
